The trailer flaunts Cities: Skylines 2's jaw-dropping graphics, which seem capable of rendering anything from an individual truck to an expansive vista with luscious attention to detail. It may seem dry, but like Civilization 6 and Stellaris, the Cities: Skylines series is meticulously designed, offering that classic "just one more minute" feel that keeps players up 'till the early hours of the morning. Some opt to simulate a city with one million residents while others might want to create an efficient traffic system. Cities Skylines 2 is likely to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, eschewing any sort of formal campaign in favor of an immersive and dynamic sandbox, where players can set their own goals. I’ve bought them all and from a console perspective, this really takes the cake.True to form, Cities: Skylines 2 looks like a playground, a canvas upon which players can express themselves with efficient, aesthetically pleasing, or just plain weird city design. I’m rambling now, but definitely worth the buy if you were considering it. So now you can create a new corporate headquarters like plaza with multiple matching towers or something like that or simply place the buildings individually for aesthetic. (They took buildings from real life and their counterparts and added them). So, your roadways may have to be reworked around them.Ī cool perk is that some of the buildings are designed to go together. I would plan on losing quite a few zoned buildings just from placing one of these, and they come is unique sizes. The height of the buildings were pretty surprising too. Each high rise takes up about half a city block, and some more than that. The simple 4x4 can level up to a decent size high rise, but when compared with these new high rises their is a major size difference. Being on console, I’m used to generic buildings in their grid format. I had massive unemployment for a while but that might have been simply from all of rapid changes I made to the roadwork. As far as I’ve noticed they are largely attractions. I’ve rebuilt a rather large district using it and am fairly satisfied with what grew in.ĭefinitely plan for job loss. This will be one of my favorite DLCs for a long time to come.Īlso, Heart of Korea is pretty wholesome. Thank you for giving my city some realism and for giving me more than I thought I was getting. To the content creator(s) who developed this pack, you did something good today. I’m currently working on a Texas style metropolis, with larger than life infrastructure, and I could finally could place some iconic buildings to standout against the rest. I have spent the better part of 6 hours reconfiguring my downtown and providing myself with a whole new vision of what my skyline should look like. However, the ability to place natural looking skyscrapers has relieved some of that pressure. I’m on console, therefore my cities have pretty big limitations on realism and tool functionality. Just wanted to hop on here and rave about something that has really replenished a lot of my interest in the game. Have suggestions for the sidebar / topbar? Mail the mods!
